2021 Weetbix Try Update

Message from the Weetbix Tryathlon Team:

"... We would love to provide a full schedule of 18 events across Aotearoa this season, our 30th series, but the emergence of COVID in our community has impacted our planning and significantly increased the chance of future disruption leading us to re-evaluate the format of our 2021-22 series.

This season we will be delivering a reduced event series of 10 TRYathlons (versus planned 18 events) with the first event being held in February 2022. We are very sad to say that we have been unable to include the Central West Auckland TRYathlon event into the 2022 event schedule.

However, we will be offering a new innovative programme this season, called TRY CHALLENGE, where tamariki will have the opportunity to earn their Champions Medal, and TRYathlon T-shirt by encouraging them to work towards a fitness goal. This programme, including medal and T-shirt, will be available for a small fee of around $10.

This three-week programme, which has been designed in collaboration with Triathlon NZ, can be completed through school or at home.

We are very excited to be bringing this new TRY CHALLENGE initiative to you in our 30th year of the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon. An invitation to join the TRY CHALLENGE programme along with further details will be sent to you and your school by the 1st November. "

Watch this space as I will be promoting the Try Challenge as soon as the information arrives. Hopefully we will be in Level 1 by then.

FEBRUARY 2022

Unfortunately this event will not be happening due to being in red level this term.
