Taekwon - Do Clubs

This term some of our Year 2 - 6 classes were able to participate in taekwon-do sessions with Brendan Doogan. Feedback has been very positive from the children and a few parents have asked about our local clubs.
Here is the link Brendan has shared, which will help you locate your local club. It will also give you more information about taekwon-do: International Taekwon-Do.

The girls and their support crew.

The season is now over and haven't they done well!!! Our Year 3/4 team have made enormous progress in all areas of their game over the winter season. Special thanks must go to Amanda, who coached and umpired the girls every week. We missed J'varn and Ve'a who were absent this week.

Weetbix TRYathlon 2019

This year Owairaka will be entering a team in the Central West Weetbix Tryathlon being held at Keith Hay Park on Sunday 8 December.
All Puriri and Kauri students who are interested in participating can pick up a registration form from Maria Mudgway, school coordinator, in Room 21. We encourage the children to complete all sections of the tryathlon - swim, bike and run but they can get together as participate as teams.
The cost per participant is $47 this year, including postage of their kits, which has been kindly subsidised by our wonderful Friends of School by $17 per participant!
Payment can be made at the office by eft-pos or cash or online. If paying online please reference as Weetbix Tryathlon, your child's name & Room number. Registrations will close on 31 October so that paperwork can be completed and the team entered on time.
Please give Rachael in the office your registration form when making payment.
You can contact Maria at mmudgway@owairaka.school.nz or pop into Room 21 before or after school.
