Eden Albert Rippa Rugby & Rugby Tournament

Each year we send teams to the Eden Albert Rugby Tournament run by Auckland Rugby Union. This year we found it difficult to enter teams in the Under 40kg and Under 46kg grades due to lack of interest but thankfully the Under 46kg boys we did have were able to play in the Open Weight grade. They played so well and their speed and stamina really showed.

Most of the girls had never played rippa before and we were very impressed at the progress they have made over the past few weeks of training. They showed teamwork, determination and resilience throughout all their games.

Congratulations to our Open Rugby Team, who came 3rd in their section, and to our Girls Rippa Rugby Team, who came fourth in the final of their competition. The coaches, teachers and parents were very proud of our players.

Many thanks to Eti and Tenille, Dayelle's parents, for coaching the girls and to Michael Taia, from Eden Rugby, for coaching the boys. If you are looking for a rugby club for your child next season please consider Eden Rugby Club.

Owai Mud Runners Hit The Mud

Congratulations to the children who took part in the annual Tough Guy/Gal MUD Run for 2021. These dedicated children took part in our weekly running club during terms 1 and 2, and had a lot of fun splashing in the mud this week. Run club will be back in 2022 for Kauri team students.

Special thanks to Rachael O'Shea and Sam Lyons who trained the team every Wednesday morning while the rest of us were still getting out of bed. Ka nui te pai Team Owai!!!
