Eden Albert Cricket Tournament

Two Owairaka cricket teams completed at the Eden/Albert cricket tournament at Cornwall Cricket Club recently. In preparation for the tournament the teams showed commitment during training and learned a lot about the game. On the day they represented the school with pride. They displayed great sportsmanship and thoroughly enjoyed their day. Well done Owairaka!
Thanks to Charles (Arlo's grandad) and Andy Faulder for your coaching wisdom 😀

Every Wednesday morning a group of Kauri team runners make their way to the top of Owairaka (Mt Albert). There are a range of walkers and runners, and some awesome teacher and parent support. It is about 3km, with lots of uphill. Come along and join in. The group meets outside the hall at 7.40am.

Little Rippas

Wow! Today I learned a lot about rippa rugby which, I have to admit, I haven't watched for a very, very long time. Our team was amazing and showed some  super teamwork and ball handling skills in every game they played. They made us proud both on and off the field!
The team came fourth in the competition, winning three and drawing one, in the build up to the semi-finals.
Congratulations to (from left to right) Jared, Lucas, Masima, Jadarose, Emacyn, Tarsh (coach), Katana, Marley, Alan and Chance.
Thanks to Tarsh for taking the time out to coach the team and to our parents who came along to support us today.
